Subject Matter: ““Titus” is a look back to Susan’s carousel horse images created from 1988 – 2004. This image of a carousel horse decked out in Roman Legion garb was one that she had imagined, but as she got busy with adult life and its many responsibilities, existed only in the drawing board of the mind. Here we see a close-up image of Titus, running away from the darkened carousel, across an abandoned beach, under a starry sky. This piece is one of a series of images of carousel horses created to complete the 10-piece set titled El Camino” (The Path).
