This charming, hand-colored intaglio etching captures the whimsical spirit of a little clown in a moment of playful pretense. With a posture suggesting mock stealth, the clown attempts to conceal a vibrant cluster of balloons behind his back, failing endearingly as the colorful spheres float clearly above his head. The etching technique provides a fine, delicate line quality, while the selective application of watercolor enhances the lighthearted and slightly absurd charm of the scene.
